In collaboration with the Beitteddine “Art Festival represented by its founder Mrs. Noura Joumblatt and the Gibran National Committee represented by its President Dr. Tarek Chidiac, fifteen Original paintings, manuscripts and personal effects of Gibran Khalil Gibran were exposed during Beiteddine Art Festival 2015, from July 29 to September 5, 2015 at the 200-year-old historical palace of Beittedine in the Chouf Mountains were Beiteddine Art Festival takes place each year in the months of July and August.
At the inauguration of the 2015 festival that was launched in the summer of 1985 during the war., Dr. Chidiac stressed in his speech that “it has been five years since Gibran chose to travel across Lebanon and now to the beloved Beittedine village” to take his part at the festival that became an act of faith in Lebanon’s cultural role and power of creativity, a call for normality amid the chaos and madness of war.
It is worth mentioning that the Beiteddine Art Festival that is one of the leading festivals in the Middle East presents outstanding performances by world famous stars and Lebanese artists.
Concurrent with the performances, the palace houses one or more international art exhibits.
The palace is a jewel of the Lebanese architecture with its many courtyards, monumental gates, elegant arcades and leveled galleries.
