"KAHLIL GIBRAN IN UNKNOWN WORKS” Exhibition exposed 35 framed paintings, 63 book covers of translated literary works of Gibran into different languages around the world; and 6 photographs. These are professional copies of the originals, reproduced by a special permission from the Gibran National Committee. The collections that became the property of Notre Dame University; are set at the disposal of students, scholars, and university professors for educational and research purposes.
On the occasion, the NDU has issued a booklet that comprised a collection of Kahlil Gibran’s unknown artworks and literary texts. It included specifically: 35 paintings and drawings covering oil on canvas, watercolor, pencil and chalk; 13 handwritten pages in Arabic and English.
The booklet also comprised speeches that were delivered at the inauguration of the exhibition.
It is worth mentioning that in his speech, Dr. Chidiac President of the GNC stressed that presiding the Gibran National Committee (GNC) that officially holds the literary legacy of Gibran and promoting his messages, is a duty that should be delivered through numerous events such as today’s exhibition.
Following his speech Dr. Chidiac detailed the methods and phases Gibran developed in painting, specifically faces and figures paintings.
